Current Customized Training Opportunities
Housing Career Pathways – Actively Recruiting!

This FREE skills training program aims to connect New Yorkers residing in NYCHA public housing and HPD’s affordable housing with well-paying career opportunities in affordable housing development.

PARTICIPANTS OBTAIN INSTRUCTION IN

Industry-Specific Topics: Intro to the NYC Affordable Housing Industry, Tenant Marketing and Compliance, Fair Housing

Digital Literacy: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite, Digital Organization, Typing, Internet Navigation, Adobe

Soft Skills & Job Readiness: Professional Communication, Employer Expectations, Resume and Cover Letter Writing, Interview Skills

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be 18 or older and legally eligible for work in the U.S.
  • Have at least a High School Diploma or GED
  • Be an NYC Resident (living in one of the 5 boroughs)
  • Must be available for the entire training schedule

*Residents of NYCHA public housing, HPD affordable housing, and/or New Yorkers with vouchers (CityFHEPS, Section 8, EHV) are preferred, but all NYC residents are encouraged to apply.

HOW TO APPLY

If you are interested in applying to Housing Career Pathways, please attend one of our scheduled information sessions. Following the information session, you will have the opportunity to submit a full application.

After completing the online registration form, you must attend a required information session. Following the information session, you will be asked to complete an application package that consists of an intake form and short assessment. Based on your application, you may move forward to the next step, a 1:1 interview with a Housing Career Pathways team member.
