RESOURCES AND SERVICES

BWI goes beyond job training, providing trainees and graduates with the support and resources needed to focus on building a career. By addressing the following needs, BWI reduces barriers that stand in the way of career success. 

During training, participants have access to the following resources free of charge through our Community Services:

  • Financial literacy education
  • Tax preparation services
  • Legal assistance
  • Access to benefits
  • Transportation assistance

BWI graduates have access to the following resources for 2 years following their graduation:

  • One-on-one career counseling
  • Continuing education workshops
  • Job replacement services

Current trainees and graduates are also able to apply for the Tools of the Trade Fund* which provides financial support for items that are essential for work. Examples of eligible costs include:

  • Credentialing costs
  • Tools and equipment
  • Metrocards
  • Childcare
  • Phone bill
  • Personal care items
  • Groceries
