FOOD INDUSTRY JOB TRAINING

Where: Industry City Innovation Lab, 87 35th Street, 2nd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11232

This free training program will help you earn certification in food preparation and handling and prepare you for a career in the food industry. Graduates will be ready to take on a role in food production or manufacturing, commercial kitchens, entry-level baking, food retail, and more.

Participants will obtain instruction in:

  • NYC Food Handler’s License
  • Basic knife handling and baking skills
  • Knowledge of kitchen machinery and tools
  • Basic math, including weights and measurement
  • Resume and interview skills

Minimum requirements for participation:

  • 18+ years old
  • Pass a basic math and reading exam

Training Details

  • Training will begin in early February
  • Length of training: 3 weeks
  • Classes will be held in Long Island City
