• 21+ years of age
• Live in New York City | Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• A valid New York State driver’s license is required to enroll in this program with two years of driving history
• A clean driving record:

— No more than one (1) suspension (suspensions must be cleared for at least two years)
— If there is a combination of convictions and suspensions, there can be no more than one of each and the suspension must have been cleared for a minimum of two years.

NYCHA Resident Training Academy Information Session

When: Wednesday, April 10, 2024 | 9:45 AM – 12 Noon | Via Zoom

Attendance of the Virtual Information Session is invite-only, for applicants who have passed the Entrance Exam.
Step 1: Entrance Exam
Interested and eligible applicants are instructed to contact NYCHA REES to be scheduled for the Entrance Exam. NYCHA REES can be reached at (718) 289-8100.
Step 2: Pre-Screening
Applicants who pass the Entrance Exam will receive a phone call from NYCHA REES to be invited to the Virtual Information Session. In addition to being emailed the Virtual Information Session Zoom link, applicants will also receive a link to complete the NRTA Applicant form which must be filled out prior to attending the Virtual Information Session.
Step 3: Virtual Information Session
Applicants should download the free Zoom app if they intend to use their smartphone to attend the session. Applicants will need to be on time for the session as virtual doors will officially close at 10 AM and no late comers will be permitted in.

Step 4: Obtain CDL Class BP Permit – General Knowledge, Airbrakes and Passenger exams passed.
Step 5: Interview for a spot in an upcoming cycle.

Requirements:
• Unemployed
• 21+ years of age
• Live in New York City | Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• A valid New York State driver’s license is required to enroll in this program with two years of driving history
• A clean driving record:
— 4 points or fewer
— No more than two (2) convictions
— No more than one (1) suspension (suspensions must be cleared for at least two years)
— If there is a combination of convictions and suspensions, there can be no more than one of each and the suspension must have been cleared for a minimum of two years.
